Galway Bay fm newsroom – The higher planning authority has postponed making a decision on the proposed Dunkellin River and Aggard stream flood relief scheme until December.
The works will be focused in three areas along the Dunkellin river in Craughwell village, at Rinn bridge and upstream of the Dunkellin bridge to the N18 at Kilcolgan.
They will involve channel deepening in Craughwell village, channel widening at Rinn bridge and other channel maintenance.
It is also proposed to complete maintenance works and culvert replacement along the Aggard stream to mitigate flooding in the area.
The case was due to be decided by An Bord Pleanála by the end of September, but the decision date has now been pushed out until the 18th of December.
