Day two of excavation in Carna yields no clues to missing local woman

Galway Bay fm newsroom – The second day-long intensive search for a woman missing in Rusheenamanagh in Carna has ended without any significant breakthrough.
33-year old Barbara Walsh went missing from her home after a party on June 22nd 1985.
A full review of the case was carried out earlier this year and Gardai generated 112 lines of inquiry after interviewing 60 people.
A substantial amount of probing and digging is now understood to have been carried out on the farmland around the house – a site of around 8 acres of marginal land.
While this is not classified as a criminal investigation, the Garda crime investigation unit is involved in the search.
Gardaí are due to resume the search tomorrow morning.
