Community group steps up campaign to save Loughrea Town Hall

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Efforts are underway to raise 40 thousand euro in funding towards the renovation of Loughrea Town Hall.

A community group was established two years ago to save the derelict building.

Loughrea Arts Recreation & Culture group made an application with the county council last September for government funding, but was unsuccessful.

LARC has set a target of 40 thousand euro to raise in 2017 with a number of events planned.

A church gate collection will kickstart the fundraising campaign this Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday in Loughrea.
