City vigil to mark 4th anniversary of Savita’s death

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A candlelit vigil will take place in the city later today to mark the 4th anniversary of the death of Savita Hallappanavar.

The Indian dentist died at UHG in 2012, as a result of sepsis brought on during a miscarriage.

Savita, who had allegedly sought an abortion after finding out she was miscarrying, has become a symbol of Ireland’s pro-choice movement.

Galway pro-choice will host a candlelit procession from the Spanish Arch at 6 this evening.
