Galway Bay fm newsroom – A city-based restaurant has swept the board at the 2016 Irish Restaurant Awards, taking home three top awards.
The annual awards recognise and reward excellence in the restaurant and hospitality sector in Ireland.
Loam at Fairgreen Road in the city, which was awarded a Michelin star last year, was named the best restaurant in Ireland – while its chef, Enda McEvoy, was named the best chef in Ireland and in Connacht.
Kai Cafe and Restaurant, based at Sea Road in the city, took the award for ‘best customer service’ in Ireland and in Connacht.
Barna-based seafood restaurant O’Grady’s on the Pier was awarded the prestigious title of best seafood experience nationwide.
Well known Galway chef and restaurateur JP McMahon was also named the All-Ireland Local Food Hero at the awards ceremony in Dublin last night.
