Galway Bay fm newsroom – A body has been recovered during the search for a fisherman missing from Lough Corrib near Oughterard.
The body was taken from the water near Oughterard Pier by Corrib/Mask rescue boats and local fishermen shortly after 1.30 this afternoon.
The alarm was raised at about 11 o’ clock yesterday morning, when an unoccupied boat was discovered on the lake.
It’s understood the missing fisherman is aged in his 50’s and is from the area.
The body has been removed to UHG for a post mortem examination.
