Galway Bay fm newsroom – It’s been ruled that the use of lands at Clifden Mart for the occasional provision of a chipper van is considered development – and therefore must go through the planning process.

The matter was referred to An Bord Pleanála for consideration in December of last year.
The board found that the permitted use of the area occasionally used by the chipper van is as ‘car parking and circulation’ serving the mart and other premises within the Clifden Business Park.

It concluded that the mobile catering service, and its use for the sale and consumption of hot food, is not encompassed within that permission and is a change  of use of the land.

The area in question is located at Tullyvoheen in Clifden.
